The newly developed PHUSICOS simulation is a serious game. It was developed as part of Work Package 6 on learning innovation and aims to simulate the complex governance setting of stakeholders.

A webinar titled “NBS: Green solutions for the environment. Benefits and opportunities”, was held 30th September with 157 registered contacts, and an average participation of 84 attendees.
PHUSICOS presented how NBS create good environmental governance by engaging all parts of society and to enhance multiple benefits for both humans and nature at the IUCN World Congress.
A WP5 report was presented at the Policy Business Forum 19th April 2021. Three NBS financing models emerged: private, blended and public. They summarise some key messages of the workshop.
A meeting and site visit to the NBS project Erill la Vall gully in Catalunya, Spain with PHUSICOS partners, promoters of the project and local experts took place in late July.
The Concept Case at the Kaunertal Valley is testing mixtures to stabilize alpine slopes and reduce erosion that is intensified by rapid glacier retreat and extreme precipitation events. See video.

“Stakeholder Mapping to Co-Create Nature-Based Solutions: Who Is on Board?” is published in the journal Sustainability. A strategic framework to achieve higher implementation efficiency is presented.
The journal “Environmental Sciences Proceedings” has an article on the Isar River Basin concept case which highlights the preliminary application of the assessment framework tool developed in Phusicos.
